I’d rather be watching the World Cup, but alas…
As you know, MySpace is a big deal. It’s already the second most viewed website (in terms of views), and is adding 240,000 new users per day. [TechCrunch]. This is absolutely incredible, and truly demonstrates how differently we are using the web than we were even two years ago. Of course, with this comes cause for concern — especially among those users who don’t know what they’re doing. A well-written post on Philly Future sums it up nicely.
What this means for you and me: lots of articles about how MySpace and the web are evil and plenty of congresspeople who hope to turn irrational fears into public outrage. Sigh…
Other things:
- Quickmuse allows you to watch poets (good ones, even!) compose a brief poem in fifteen minutes. Great stuff.
- Chris Ware can play the piano too.
- The folks at the RIAA think they have file-sharing under control.
Want to listen to your iPod in the water closet? Now you can:
To be perfectly honest, I kind of like it…
