Hot on Halloween

Good article in today’s Times about the recent trend towards sexy fantasy Halloween costumes for women. This is a very recent phenomenon (I don’t remember seeing these costumes until a few years ago, and in the past two years I’ve seen hundreds of them) and may or may not be indicative of larger trends in feminism.

The article also provides links to a few sites making a killing off this trend, so you can investigate if you’re interested. After looking through for a picture for this post, I’ve seen enough…

  1. Is the trend supposed to specifically be fantasy costumes? Because I don’t remember sexy costumes ever not being in fashion.

  2. Yes, it does seem to be that the specifically fantasy-themed costumes are more popular now that ever — rather than just putting on bunny ears…
